Weekly routine
Clean tail thoroughly (in all roots) Just like people, clean the roots more than the bottom (I use E3 Elite Equine Evolution Argan Oil Shampoo)
Rinse clearly
Apply a HEAVY layer of conditioner to roots and ends
Let sit for 20-30 minutes - this is crucial
Rinse
Let dry completely (do not brush)
Apply Vetrolin Detangler gel & brush
If you have dryness problems, Then, apply either the Equiderma Skin Lotion or the Effol Regrowth Serum, 500ml – Dapper Horse to the roots
Let dry
In the winter months, put the tail in a french braid and be sure to put a band at the bottom of the tailbone, the middle of the braid, and multiple bands or tape the bottom – this way it will not come out while out in the field, rolling, etc.
When you eventually take the braid out, add Stubben Brush On Care to keep stains out & add the soft texture
I take the braid out for exercise and put it right back in following exercise. I reapply vetrolin every other/every 2 days depending on the health of the tail.
Whitening & Brightening recommendations (MAGIC)
